Founder and CEO, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist- Supervisor
As Founder and CEO of Farrington Specialty Centers, Brooke established Farrington Specialty Counseling Inc. in 2009. Brooke is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and one of very few Certified Eating Disorder Specialists in the State of Indiana. She has specialized in treating eating disorders and body image issues since 2005. She is a graduate of Purdue University Fort Wayne with Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and Dance. She received her Master's of Social Work at Indiana University School of Social Work with a concentration in mental health and families. She also completed extensive training in eating disorders at Saddleback College. In her extensive work in the field of eating disorders, Brooke has treated clients across levels of care, including residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment. She has experience with all ranges of eating disorders and has worked with individuals of all ages, groups, and families impacted by eating disorders, compulsive exercise, and body image disturbances. Dance therapy and other creative, experiential therapies are utilized in her work with clients. She is an active member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp™), acting as chair of iaedp™'s Connection, Outreach, and Mentoring Committee. Brooke is also an iaedp™ Approved Supervisor. She was named iaedp™'s Member of the Year in 2016. As a member of the Residential Eating Disorder Consortium (REDC), she is on the Standards Committee. She is also a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED) and the Eating Disorder Task Force of Indiana. Brooke consults with other providers and speaks locally and nationally as an eating disorder expert.
Brooke understands on a personal level what her clients are going through, as she has been recovered from an eating disorder and compulsive exercise since 2001. This unique experience allows her to connect with clients on a deeper level and provide rich supervision for other clinicians. She is proof that true healing is possible!
